It gives me immense pleasure and pride to pen down my experience in organising and managing the IOA-IFAS Instructional Course at Pondicherry. I wish to extend my sincere gratitude and countless thanks to the mentors Prof MS Dhillon sir and Dr. Rajiv Shah sir who along with the dynamic leadership of Dr. Rajesh Simon sir designed and perfected the entire program. The biggest challenge I faced personally was to encourage the participation of delegates in a speciality that is yet to fully blossom in a small town like Pondicherry.
But by the end of the course I had quite a few delegates come up and ask me about taking membership in IFAS. It had not only spread awareness about the common foot and ankle problems but it also piqued the interest of many delegates about the speciality as a whole. I felt that was the biggest success of the program. I would also like to extend my thanks to the course director Dr. Dharmarajan sir who gave me the freedom and guidance in equal measure to run this program successfully. Special mention to my mentor Dr. Kamal Dureja sir to whom I owe everything I learnt and continue to learn in this wonderful speciality.
Last but not the least this program would never have reached this level of success if not for the untiring efforts and patience of Dr. Inderjeet Singh. So many times I had to trouble him with regards to various issues. Yet not once he lost his cool and continued to extend his unwavering support throughout. Hats off to you sir. I wish we continue to have such programs far and wide across the country so that the speciality gets the attention it deserves. Thank you.
